Stopping Mean Behavior
During this unit we define mean behavior and bullying. We spend time role playing strategies to stop this type of behavior, while focusing on the power of the Upstander. Together we learned that the most powerful population in our school is the bystanders, and when those people decide to STAND UP with the target, mean behavior can be extinguished. A great deal of emphasis is also placed on reporting mean behavior to trusted adults, especially in situations that are repeated or harmful.
